Kids Read 3- A STREAM

A  STREAM

A clear stream flows

Down back, behind the house

Place to explore, rocks and sticks to throw

Things to build, new things always to do,

Ducks and small fish seen,

Digging and raking and pulling

Talk and chatter and laughter

And, this sleepy small stream comes to life

A time made richer

A day made fuller

Light heartedness becomes infectious

Passed easily, freely from one to another;

Serious jobs wait to be unfolded

Gladness waits to cover like a new tent.

The energy, the scene, the most sincere playfulness,

Simple honesty rules along with the bright sunshine,

Light to see, light for warmth

As all the youthful energy charges about;

So much to do, then even more

As time evaporates, Like dew, as youth youthfully sown.

About Gary Bertnick

I was a Minnesota teenager in the late 1960's. I was drafted into the military after an intense time at an engineering school. As a graduate chemical engineer and former athlete, I became a Marine Corps private. The Lord spoke to me through a friend while visiting Rapid City,S.D. My true discipleship began in Southern California and was boosted through association with Morris Cerullo Ministry and others. I fed upon the Scriptures and have learned to be led by the Holy Spirit. I know what the fear of the Lord is. What I write is done to honor the Lord and to touch the lives of those who know Him as well as those who should.
