BATHED IN PRAYER
The Word of my God washes
His words swish about the heavens
A living brush, invisible brush
Colors alive, more vibrant
Dynamic, powerful strokes of all creation;
Goodness surrounds
Kindness wraps strong arms about the shoulders.
The King stands as High Priest
Intercedes for us, even for me;
Prayers of a righteous man powerful
Prayers of repentance even more so,
One lost sheep now found celebrated greatly.
The Lord commands us to come as children
To sing and dance and love before Him as children
To be His own children.
Simple prayers, the communion of love
Sips of grace given freely, hands held out
Steps of grace lived out, hands in the earth’s rich soil,
In harmony, in perfect spoken unity,
Oneness in deepest heart desires,
On knees, caught up in eternal wars
Prayers of a child of God
Prayers as milk from full breasts nourish.
United, sweet life in celebration
Joined, words of love wash into words of life,
The soul and spirit cleansed
The body, a seed, a kernel soon to be planted.
