FINISH THE RACE

FINISH  THE  RACE

A clear trumpet blast sounds

Steady, very loud

The children are all ready, alert and watchful

An exciting new race to run

A race to win, a race already won;

The goal easily seen, excitement surges as adrenalin

Deepest desire of every heart,

More than a man for his woman

A woman for her man,

Even the beauty and strength of youth,

Righteously entwined.

Many times many,

As an uncounted multitude begins this good race,

Across the heavens huge banners glow brightly,

Forcefully proclaim- “WHO WILL FINISH THE RACE,

AS MY FAITHFUL SON, THE HOLY ONE?”.

Silence stands in reverence

The wise, faithful and obedient child understands,

As the crowds sprint wildly along Earth’s way.

She often stops, kneels and bows low, and considers the true cost

The true effort

Then rises again in faith, in new strength to run this life’s marathon,

The triumphant finish burns brightly within from the very beginning.

About Gary Bertnick

I was a Minnesota teenager in the late 1960's. I was drafted into the military after an intense time at an engineering school. As a graduate chemical engineer and former athlete, I became a Marine Corps private. The Lord spoke to me through a friend while visiting Rapid City,S.D. My true discipleship began in Southern California and was boosted through association with Morris Cerullo Ministry and others. I fed upon the Scriptures and have learned to be led by the Holy Spirit. I know what the fear of the Lord is. What I write is done to honor the Lord and to touch the lives of those who know Him as well as those who should.
