They run into His embrace

As children in this world

Once lost, now found in God’s love.

Those emotionally torn, intellectually deadened,

Those thought near, always distant

Those religiously “strange”, thought deluded,

Begin to make a little sense;

The fruit of lives- stability, order

And a type of peace seen,

Seemingly a clean love for others,

All that had been a mystery set aside,

Somehow understood, not really forgotten.

Now, through glaring eyes of unfulfilled need,

Something new can be seen

Simple, but attractive

Embarrassing to pride, but an honest step has to be taken,

Things that anchored America begin to lose all grip.

So, one step is taken, then another

Eyes begin to see what ears began to hear

Present reality ecllipsed by a greater reality

A presence, a brightness beyond the sun

A face of confidence, a face of spiritual peace.

Once a myth, historical fable, a weakness

Now the power of all mystery, eternal reality revealed

Wisdom in God alone, in Messiah alone.

This one bows with all of his being

And like a calf leaps from a stall

He runs with all of his strength

Into the only lasting embrace.

About Gary Bertnick

I was a Minnesota teenager in the late 1960's. I was drafted into the military after an intense time at an engineering school. As a graduate chemical engineer and former athlete, I became a Marine Corps private. The Lord spoke to me through a friend while visiting Rapid City,S.D. My true discipleship began in Southern California and was boosted through association with Morris Cerullo Ministry and others. I fed upon the Scriptures and have learned to be led by the Holy Spirit. I know what the fear of the Lord is. What I write is done to honor the Lord and to touch the lives of those who know Him as well as those who should.
