Suddenly a new door opens

Suddenly an old door closes

Eyes of a baby beautiful,

So bright at birth,

Then another’s, once vibrant for years, closed forever;

There is no surprise in heaven

No sudden thing to rise up

No sudden thing to fall down.

The One who knows the end from the beginning

Encircles the Throne with songs of celebration, of triumph

Joy at each new life birthed,

Each soul who receives new life as a most holy gift

Who drinks from the deep cup of salvation

Who daily embraces the Cross of the only Messiah

And steps whole heartedly along the new narrow path,

Death to the world

New life in God.

Suddenly the sun is brighter

Air fresher, sky bluer, the stars more spectacular

The earth more beautiful

Its inhabitants more precious.

He looks upon others differently

Sees much of their beginning,

Development, forces that shape

And their common end;

Sings for each a prayer

A song of salvation heard far above.

The new heart is enlarged by each

New love bursts the seams with more.

About Gary Bertnick

I was a Minnesota teenager in the late 1960's. I was drafted into the military after an intense time at an engineering school. As a graduate chemical engineer and former athlete, I became a Marine Corps private. The Lord spoke to me through a friend while visiting Rapid City,S.D. My true discipleship began in Southern California and was boosted through association with Morris Cerullo Ministry and others. I fed upon the Scriptures and have learned to be led by the Holy Spirit. I know what the fear of the Lord is. What I write is done to honor the Lord and to touch the lives of those who know Him as well as those who should.
