WHISPERS

WHISPERS

Quiet prayer as whispers of true love,

The heart longs to draw near

My spirit throbs to know, to grow closer

To celebrate oneness, eternal embrace

Joy of worship, new wine poured out,

Praise as sweet drink for the thirsty soul;

How we long for you, Messiah,

I yearn for your presence

Written Word as new manna

Food for the desert trail we walk,

Your spoken words, our ready drink

A living spring gushes from the only Rock.

I wandered the earth in my early youth

Northern Minnesota cold, spiritual void

Rapid City reality clash

San Diego warmth and ocean beauty, and military bondage;

Once enlightenment came by your hand, through a friend

And mercy wrapped about me

The written Word became a mirror I could reach into,

Holy Spirit written words spiritually received

Seed of life burst from my fertile ground.

Heaven bound destiny calmed

Quieted raging youth, assurance soothed and comforted

Washed over with waves of Yeshua’s ocean of peace,

Southern California sun,

Treasure of new found wisdom once hidden.

I stood confident on my feet at last,

I stood as a young man of God!

A man who held high the gift of faith

Banner for any and all to see

Servant of the only worthy Lord.

About Gary Bertnick

I was a Minnesota teenager in the late 1960's. I was drafted into the military after an intense time at an engineering school. As a graduate chemical engineer and former athlete, I became a Marine Corps private. The Lord spoke to me through a friend while visiting Rapid City,S.D. My true discipleship began in Southern California and was boosted through association with Morris Cerullo Ministry and others. I fed upon the Scriptures and have learned to be led by the Holy Spirit. I know what the fear of the Lord is. What I write is done to honor the Lord and to touch the lives of those who know Him as well as those who should.
