KIDS READ 8- SLIP AND FADE

KIDS READ – SLIP AND FADE

Small feet race along the path

Rocks and trees clustered about

Boulders to climb

A view far and wide to see

Then, off like a rabbit

Darting here, and darting there

No end of things to see and do.

The busy flowing creek splashes nearby

Small waterfalls ripple

Pools smoothly drift along;

A nervous adult watches

Eyes always fixed, hands always ready.

Laughter covers this good way

Reflected ponds of freedom

A new chance to explore

Chance to always grow,

Fleeting moments

In fleeting days

As the gentle white clouds blow along above us

The sun marches across the sky while the earth spins.

Our days pass too quickly

Days of childlike innocence,

Easy times to “taste and see” God’s goodness

Slip away and fade so quickly, so easily.

About Gary Bertnick

I was a Minnesota teenager in the late 1960's. I was drafted into the military after an intense time at an engineering school. As a graduate chemical engineer and former athlete, I became a Marine Corps private. The Lord spoke to me through a friend while visiting Rapid City,S.D. My true discipleship began in Southern California and was boosted through association with Morris Cerullo Ministry and others. I fed upon the Scriptures and have learned to be led by the Holy Spirit. I know what the fear of the Lord is. What I write is done to honor the Lord and to touch the lives of those who know Him as well as those who should.
