GENTLE KING

GENTLE  KING

He sits with quiet, noble calm

As power radiates throughout the Universe

Eternal life pulses in worship all about

Love for His own, even remnant Jacob,

Countless angels in purest devotion

Remnant of mankind from the small earth wears crowns of humility.

As the donkey carried Him faithfully

The gentle King received their praise

And wept over His Jerusalem

City of the Great King, city without understanding

In tragic rebellion

Stubborn defiance by foolish leaders

Greed out of control in merchants;

But some in the crowds could truly see

Some in the cheering numbers could hear and begin to grasp,

The jubilant in celebration,

The few who understood dropped to their knees

Bowed low in honor as He passed by.

The Great King misunderstood by a generation

Betrayed by the realms of power

The same treachery that lives in America now.

Yet, in the wisdom of God seeds of knowledge to be carried by a few here,

A few there

Would germinate in hearts and spirits

Would sprout and grow in time

A tree much greater than seen by Daniel in Babylon

All the birds of the nations beneath its branches,

All the creatures of the world protected

Gathered beneath its massive branches as heavenly wings;

A rock becomes a great mountain

Fills the earth for a thousand generations

Fills the entire earth destined for such,

Even Mount Zion throne of the Mighty King.

About Gary Bertnick

I was a Minnesota teenager in the late 1960's. I was drafted into the military after an intense time at an engineering school. As a graduate chemical engineer and former athlete, I became a Marine Corps private. The Lord spoke to me through a friend while visiting Rapid City,S.D. My true discipleship began in Southern California and was boosted through association with Morris Cerullo Ministry and others. I fed upon the Scriptures and have learned to be led by the Holy Spirit. I know what the fear of the Lord is. What I write is done to honor the Lord and to touch the lives of those who know Him as well as those who should.
