Our lives as written in complete books
Our names prayerfully written in the “Book of Life”
Set before the King of Compassion
The King of Kindness who knows what we are made of
Who proclaimed, as the Great Shepherd, only love for His sheep;
Then He held the little children in His arms,
Touched the blind so they could see,
Lifted up lepers from the dirt and grime of this place,
Cleansed the minds of the demon tormented,
Freely gave new life to the many walking dead
Snared by the world and common human nature,
Holy love revealed to the willing few
Displayed with consuming passion on Jerusalem’s hill.
Mystery of the greatness of God,
Even all the stars counted, names given;
The telescopes of man gaze upon the doorstep to infinity
Mere reflections of eternity,
Eyes only grow large with perplexed amazement.
The Judge on His throne holds the balance
Each life book of a man or woman held with purest honesty
Names in the holy Book of Life shine more brightly than stars,
Those who drank the cup of grace and mercy.
Those who would not
Stand in naked shame
All deeds, all words, all thoughts
In justice seen clearly by all.
