Found in His mercy, jewel set in finest gold

His kindness and gentleness,

The greatness of our God.

Tender forgiveness beyond smallest details

Care for a forgotten child

Care for the lost elderly treated the same,

Both cast off by harsh humanity

Even a woman when once honored beauty is faded,

All embraced in the end by His love

Arms that can draw near when none else can;

At the end of human effort, spent human emotions

More than a father, a mother

More than a relative, a close neighbor

Or the most compassionate grandmother’s soul.

Greatness displayed in the many little things all about us

Things even too small to see,

Again, beyond human understanding.

The One who rules God’s creation is able

Lord of all comfort

God of all compassion,

Each leap of man’s knowledge in discovery

Whether a Tesla or an Edison,

All melts in the “face of holiness”.

Ruler who looks mercifully upon the weakness and foolishness

And still loves, still cares

Even as the worst hatred rises up in acrid vapor

Or a vicious dust storm out of the Sahara,

Still cares and works out His mercy

That as many as possible, everywhere

Can discover the richest treasure, their Creator

Who strides across the heavens

Stands upon the sea of nations in turmoil on earth

And speaks spiritual revelation

A living word of love to another

That calms a soul and brings lasting peace.

About Gary Bertnick

I was a Minnesota teenager in the late 1960's. I was drafted into the military after an intense time at an engineering school. As a graduate chemical engineer and former athlete, I became a Marine Corps private. The Lord spoke to me through a friend while visiting Rapid City,S.D. My true discipleship began in Southern California and was boosted through association with Morris Cerullo Ministry and others. I fed upon the Scriptures and have learned to be led by the Holy Spirit. I know what the fear of the Lord is. What I write is done to honor the Lord and to touch the lives of those who know Him as well as those who should.
