Wide awake in a sleepy world,

Many walk about

Loudly proclaim themselves as fully alive

Yet, their voices fall flat,

Dead words trickle to the cold ground,

Walked over like unmarked graves.

The Master of Light who formed the eyes

King off all beauty who made the ears

Speaks eternal words of life,

Prods the will of a man to listen

Stirs the spirit of a woman to hear,

Even in the heart of Jewish Israel,

Sounds of the triumphant news

Celebration of real life made known,

Hearts are turned

Lives forever powerfully changed

Humans transformed into vessels of spiritual truth,

His life amazingly poured in,

The Spirit of God miraculously poured in.

One person here, two over there,

More and more the Gospel message of hope freely shared,

In houses, in fields, in woodlands, at beaches, in parks

Groups gather together in joy.

More and more now walk in clear light

Fearless steps away from darkness,

Their faces glow with new wisdom

Covenant more than an uplifting word

Covenant with God, life in its essence

Covenant with one another in new love

Understood, fully embraced

Honesty at the highest level

Crystal clear transparency even as Heaven’s streets of pure gold

Mile after mile after mile in New Jerusalem

An endless walk of peace along the “river of life”,

Jerusalem revealed in visions to John and others

A foretaste of Heaven

Fully experienced, fully embraced in Godly pleasure,

Fully alive in a spiritually dead world.

Footsteps lead away to complete freedom in King Yeshua

As another awakens, then turns

And walks steadfastly away, peacefully from this world,

To the Cross, to the Shepherd

And the taste of Living Bread,

The drink of Living Water changed into new wine.

About Gary Bertnick

I was a Minnesota teenager in the late 1960's. I was drafted into the military after an intense time at an engineering school. As a graduate chemical engineer and former athlete, I became a Marine Corps private. The Lord spoke to me through a friend while visiting Rapid City,S.D. My true discipleship began in Southern California and was boosted through association with Morris Cerullo Ministry and others. I fed upon the Scriptures and have learned to be led by the Holy Spirit. I know what the fear of the Lord is. What I write is done to honor the Lord and to touch the lives of those who know Him as well as those who should.

  1. The other day I had a vision of a local congregation. The people were turned into glasses and vases. Some were tall, willowy and curvy, with diamond dust on the edges, while others were squat and basic, without extra glitter or form. Yet most of them were empty and dry, never even having held any water in them. A few here and there had a little water in them, but most were bone dry. I realized then that this was a picture of the Holy Spirit in their lives. It was very sad to see so many so empty, and most didn’t even know just how empty they were! They kept acting as if they were full, but they were not.

Good poem. It describes the emptiness, and what happens to fill it. Beautiful…
