FINISH THE RACE

FINISH  THE  RACE

In Divine royal procession

To finish, dear woman, precious man,

What you began

As proclaimed from, Messiah’s cross

In the strength of the Lord,

Spirit of the Lord, of truth revealed in the very beginning

Lord of Life shown as the only reality

Spirit of truth who carried step by step

Year after year

Divinely created circumstances just for you,

For every good.

Many people were drawn, your countenance with wisdom that glows,

Who acknowledged the heavenly light,

Reflection of the narrow gate, narrow road,

Who took your hand and shared the sorrows and the victories,

Much good fruit from a good tree planted

Watered by a nearby stream of Living Water,

Invisible flow from the Holy Throne.

The body has matured, grown older

Outwardly wasting away,

And as written by Paul, “Inwardly renewed day by day”.

Long ago a fountain was opened

Gushed forth with life and truth

Proclaiming the only worthy One

Maker of all, Sovereign Lord,

Who alone works wonders

Goal of faith given in youth.

The will is sustained once more

Fire still burns within

Sufficient zeal to finish this life’s task

To stand in the end strong,

Name forever written in the Book of Life,

A crown of Messiah’s life literally to be placed upon the head,

All as a Voice sings beautifully about

Saying- “Well done my son, good and faithful servant.”

About Gary Bertnick

I was a Minnesota teenager in the late 1960's. I was drafted into the military after an intense time at an engineering school. As a graduate chemical engineer and former athlete, I became a Marine Corps private. The Lord spoke to me through a friend while visiting Rapid City,S.D. My true discipleship began in Southern California and was boosted through association with Morris Cerullo Ministry and others. I fed upon the Scriptures and have learned to be led by the Holy Spirit. I know what the fear of the Lord is. What I write is done to honor the Lord and to touch the lives of those who know Him as well as those who should.
