Songs as prayers

The fragrance of incense before the King

Aroma of thanksgiving, a truly grateful heart,

Beautiful flow from a new birth

As each day awakens with new heavenly breath

Tender words and melodies of praise

Move up from within.

Once listless in a dry desert

Wilderness stumbled through daily

Heartache and deepest loneliness

Sadness mixed with bitter herbs;

Now, an endless lush garden before

Abundant well-watered delight all about

Radiant blossoms appear to dance and even sing

Trees hang heavy with ripened fruit

A pure stream always flows nearby.

A gathering of like souls

Remnant few who celebrate Israel’s divine covenant,

A shared covenant, gift to each from above

Redeemed by the ultimate sacrifice

Highest price

A cost beyond mere human understanding,

Full extent of Messiah’s love shown.

No spirit can hold back

No lips restrain the joy

Songs of praise in joyful offering

Endless celebration of life,

Love, the beautifully scented atmosphere of Heaven

Peace, the foretaste of each step

Toward the prized goal of our rich gift of faith in the Son.

About Gary Bertnick

I was a Minnesota teenager in the late 1960's. I was drafted into the military after an intense time at an engineering school. As a graduate chemical engineer and former athlete, I became a Marine Corps private. The Lord spoke to me through a friend while visiting Rapid City,S.D. My true discipleship began in Southern California and was boosted through association with Morris Cerullo Ministry and others. I fed upon the Scriptures and have learned to be led by the Holy Spirit. I know what the fear of the Lord is. What I write is done to honor the Lord and to touch the lives of those who know Him as well as those who should.
