PROPHET

PROPHET

Spirit of the Lord

His only true food and drink

Messiah the passion,

These eyes see into the future

Details unwoven slowly before him

Ears have even heard what angels hear;

Scriptures written on the soul’s experience,

Lifted above on heavenly winds

Peace the only atmosphere,

Moves gently through the heart

Mixes with love as finest perfume like Mary’s pure nard poured out

Fragrances new and fresh

Reviving the being, now in His image,

Like Him, aroma before the Father.

This one walks the earth softly

“In the world but not of it”

Belonging above.

As he loves more, hated more

As he shares understanding, understood less,

A heart of love grown more sensitive, bigger

Only a worldly target seen clearer,

A vessel of peace among those who love war

Unites with heaven, met only with swords of division

Words of encouraging truth and beauty from his mouth

Met by voices of cursing and mouths spitting,

Honoring only his Lord,

Driven in shameful ways from the last American city.

Spirit of truth surrounds

Anointing revealed, hated and attacked

Eyes of light in a face so bright

Dragged off to a modern guillotine and decapitated, as Paul.

Flaming eyes of the Holy Lord watch quietly

“As shimmering heat, as a light cloud of morning dew rises.”

About Gary Bertnick

I was a Minnesota teenager in the late 1960's. I was drafted into the military after an intense time at an engineering school. As a graduate chemical engineer and former athlete, I became a Marine Corps private. The Lord spoke to me through a friend while visiting Rapid City,S.D. My true discipleship began in Southern California and was boosted through association with Morris Cerullo Ministry and others. I fed upon the Scriptures and have learned to be led by the Holy Spirit. I know what the fear of the Lord is. What I write is done to honor the Lord and to touch the lives of those who know Him as well as those who should.
