The true cost of freedom

Nakedly in the face of the foolishness of a man

The selfish desires of a woman

Divine covenant demands of perfection,

Heavenly commands from the Almighty Father

Melt the mountains

Shake the Earth violently

Cause stars to fall “like late figs on a tree”

Send the strongest in Heaven down on their faces in trembling;

In a blink all could vaporize

Disappear, forgotten in eternity

Even as the countless souls who scoff at the Great Shepherd,

Messiah who came to show only love,

Poured out everything in honor to His Father

Salvation for mankind

All women

All men

All children.

In the mysterious rescue of creation

The revealed Cross of our Messiah towers over all

The only refuge,

Into it run the righteous

In death to self;

Rebirth takes Heaven’s powerful wings

Flies into the majestic embrace,

The Sabbath rest of eternal life

And escapes the sting of the first body death,

Then escapes the second spirit death

Lake of fire that now waits for judgment’s final call.

About Gary Bertnick

I was a Minnesota teenager in the late 1960's. I was drafted into the military after an intense time at an engineering school. As a graduate chemical engineer and former athlete, I became a Marine Corps private. The Lord spoke to me through a friend while visiting Rapid City,S.D. My true discipleship began in Southern California and was boosted through association with Morris Cerullo Ministry and others. I fed upon the Scriptures and have learned to be led by the Holy Spirit. I know what the fear of the Lord is. What I write is done to honor the Lord and to touch the lives of those who know Him as well as those who should.
